Our First Meeting

Following your booking for your family portrait shoot, we will arrange an initial meeting at the studio or via Zoom. This will allow us a valuable opportunity to get to know one another and introduce any little ones to the camera, the equipment and, of course, us!  Time to familiarise yourselves with the studio and equipment helps you feel more relaxed when it comes to the shoot, which in turn means better images for all of us.

During this initial meeting, we take time to discuss the style of the image, props, and preferred colour schemes and suggest outfits which would fit with the overall vision of the shoot. We have a growing collection of gowns for the girls and a few accessories for the boys which you are welcome to use or to give you initial inspiration for your own outfit choices. The Family Portrait Shoot

I aim to make the shoot relaxed and enjoyable for all. I work at the pace of each individual, building self-esteem, to ensure the whole experience is magical and fun. Each shoot time varies, but you can expect it to last between one and three hours – dependent on the type of booking and the age of the participants.  We take regular breaks and refreshments are provided to keep energy levels up. There might even be a treat or two along the way as well!

My family portrait shoot focuses on using the natural beauty of each person to develop the most stunning image. I like to accentuate hair and eyes in particular, so tend to avoid the use of hats, caps or make up of any kind. Shoes are often not needed as being barefoot adds to the innocence of the image.

The Presentation

10 – 14 days after the shoot we will set a date for your return to the studio for a bespoke presentation of your finished images. This timescale reflects the time invested in post-processing to develop the shots in order to create your unique images. It is the perfect opportunity to peruse all the photographs in a relaxed environment and discuss your options for prints.
